Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education. The Nurse Assistant follows the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.These duties may include but are not limited to:VitalsPerforms venipuncture and chemsticksTeam roundingsIdentifies concerns related to patients, staff, and self, and communicates with the responsible RNUNIT DESCRIPTION:For float pool we require all RN's to maintain a current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. You are assigned at the beginning of each shift to the unit if most need. They are assigned according to certified level of care; you will not be assigned to ER, ICU, or L&D unless that is your certified area of expertise. We require 36 hours per calendar month, with 12 hours minimum over the weekend, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday of 8 hours.Shift: Midnight 6:00pm to 6:00amEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalentCNA preferredCompletion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary; e.g., Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT) but perform the same job role.)OR May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course.OR Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license.OR Completion of a Medical Assistant program with OR without experience.OR At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:OverviewHAP is a Michigan-based, nonprofit health plan that provides health coverage to individuals, companies and organizations.
