The Nurse Attendant is responsible for the delivery of patient care in Emergency Department as directed by the Director or Registered Nurse as appropriate to the ages of patients served in this department. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Strives to incorporate the philosophy and mission of Mount St. Mary's Hospital and to incorporate the Hospital's goal of: Quality care, in a personal manner with total regard for individual human dignity.Mount St. Mary's Hospital consists of multiple locations and associate may be assigned as needed.Responsibilities:EDUCATION* High School or equivalent required* Completion of Certified Nurse Attendant course preferred* Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) preferredEXPERIENCE* Enrolled in nursing school or other medical specialty required* Completion of a Certified Nurse Attendant course preferred* Three (3) months previous Nurse Attendant experience in an emergency room setting or equivalent EMT experience preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY* Answer telephones* Fax* Photocopier* Typewriter
