Conducts training and ongoing competency assessment to align nursing educational opportunities with health care setting goals, operational standards, and educational priorities.1. Coordinates nursing educational programs and activities for an assigned health care setting; provides continuous education and training to nursing staff; and assesses educational needs of staff.2. Participates in planning and conducting nursing staff development programs.3. Plans, organizes, coordinates and evaluates in-service nursing orientation; maintains a system of records of in-service orientation, staff development, and educational activities; and monitors and submits all other mandatory work and regulatory reports.4. Identifies and collects information related to learning needs and collaborates with members of multiple disciplines in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of effective nursing education and training programs; serves as a resource for all nursing educational inquiries and issues.Minimum Qualifications1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and2. Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); and 3. A Master's Degree in Nursing, or a related nursing or education field, from an accredited college or university; and4. Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse in specialty area(s), including:a. One (1) year providing nursing education and training in specialty area(s); orb.
