Graduate of an accredited-licensed nurse program Possession of valid nursing license in the State of Missouri Maintain record of annual continuing education Current CPR Certification Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Baord may find appropriate adn acceptable PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for direct and indirect care given to students in compliance with school district policies, professional standards of practice, physician's orders and Individual Health Care Plans. Provide direct supervision and direction as needed. Responsible for the formulation, revision, and implementation of the Individualized Health Care Plan. Assist students with medications and maintain accurate medication records. Coordinate health screenings, examinations, and immunization programs. Interpret health screening results to parents and teachers and assist in referral and follow-up. Act as a liaison between the physician, school, community, and child's home in improving the holistic health needs of school children. Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans when appropriate. Assist in the development of ongoing student safety and child protection programs. Respect the dignity, confidentiality, and rights of all students and staff - uphold regulations and laws related to confidentiality, reporting of child abuse and neglect, and other health-related requirements. Provide leadership in the planning of proper emergency care and first aid for sudden illnesses and accidents incurred during school activities. Serve as a health consultant and resource person for health education in the classroom - assist in the coordination of the Health curriculum. Ensure the maintenance of accurate health records for all children and the submission of all reports relating to the health of children to the state, health services coordinator, or other appropriate individuals or agencies. Provide training in specialized health care procedures to staff members of the district. Order supplies and assist in the management of the school's health services budget. Monitor, report and recommend changes for safety hazards and sanitary conditions in the school environment. Maintain professional competencies through in-service educational activities and self-selected professional growth programs. Assist in the formation of health policies, goals, and objectives. Aid in the recruitment and orientation of new personnel. Perform other appropriate duties as assigned. Salary Range: RN: $26.70 - $27.20 per hour LPN: $18.20 - $18.50 per hour
