Job Title Nurse (Hancock County) Department Office of Practice Pay Grade 7 Job Category Administrative Job Summary
East Tennessee State University, College of Nursing, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse at our Hancock County Middle/High School Based Health Center. This school-based health center is located inside the Hancock County Middle/High School providing convenient, accessible and developmentally appropriate cate. Nestled deep in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee, the school-based community health center provides primary care, urgent care and mental health services to not only the students of the school, but to members of the community who might not have access to health care otherwise.
Eligible for $1500 Sign-On Bonus - $500 after 30 days. $1000 after 6-months of continued employment within the CON OOP department as an initial sign-on bonus. A sign-on bonus is not eligible when transferring or being promoted to a new position within the CON OOP.
The Registered Nurse works under general supervision of the Center Manager performing clinical duties including:
* Evaluating and treating patient health complaints following nursing protocols.
* Ensuring the scientific application of the principles of nursing science, patient safety, and patient teaching.
* Utilizing nursing skills in health promotion, disease prevention and restoration of health.
* Performing other related duties as assigned.

The employee may be required to move and/or stay in a stationary position in various settings for up to 12 hours at a time in addition to preparing and closing a clinical shift. Stress levels may be high due to frequently dealing with numerous students, patients, family members, and other healthcare providers. This position demands concentration and the ability to work in emotionally charged situations.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in nursing.
* One (1) year of clinical nursing experience.
* Tennessee or compact state licensure as an RN.
Preferred Qualifications
* Ambulatory care experience preferred.
