We welcome your interest in joining us and look forward to meeting you!POSITION: Substitute School Nurse/PRN PositionSCHOOL: All Newtown Schools (7 public, 3 private)STARTING DATE: ImmediateREMUNERATION: $35.00/hourRESPONSIBILITIES:Provide routine and emergency health care, including medication administration, to students pre-K-12Promote and protect the optimal physical, social and emotional health of school-age children in order to support the education process.Implement all federal, state and local screening mandates and lawsObserve, identify and address health patterns and atypical findings.Maintain, evaluate and interpret cumulative health data to accommodate individual needs of the students.Provide health education and appropriate referrals to community resources for students and families.* Serve as a liaison between the student, school and home.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelor's degree required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; related degrees consideredCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice nursing in the State of Connecticut.Current CPR Certification required.Minimum of one year experience in hospital nursing, school health nursing, community health nursing, or pediatric nursing.Strong organizational skillsSolid technology skills and knowledge of Google sheets and docs.APPLICATION: Please apply on line through the following link:www.applitrack.com/newtown/onlineapp/The Newtown Public School District is committed to a policy of equal opportunity/affirmative action for all qualified persons.
