The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm and every other weekend.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.On Site dailySupport residents in the (self) administration of medicationDocumentation of (self) administration of medicationPerforms TB and Drug screenings on all patients within 72 hours of admissionsPerforms routine urine drug screens as directed by the treatment/recovery planMonitors and records vital signsProvides triage and provides medical services accordinglyFor patients with health care needs, schedules and coordinates all medical appointments, and provides periodic follow-upReviews and transcribes medication orders, and monitors medication records for compliance;Observes and records response to treatment/medication and notifies the Medical Director, the RN Supervisor, and the Program Director of any such instancesMonitors ongoing/chronic medical problemsHandles minor needs of patients including attending to minor injuries, administering routine medicationsMaintains all medical recordsPerforms QA activitiesEKGPerforms accurate and complete audits of medication transported, received, administered, stored or disposed, as trained and assigned, in accordance with Phoenix House medication policies and procedures.COMPETENCIES (KSAs)Ethical PracticesJudgmentRelationship ManagementTime ManagementEmpathyProfessional BoundariesGlobal and Cultural AwarenessCritical EvaluationProblem SolvingDecision MakingCommunicationTeamworkCrisis ManagementTechnical CapacityQualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATIONGraduate from an accredited nursing programLICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSCurrent NYS Licensed Practical NurseCurrent certification in BLS and/or ACLSREQUIRED EXPERIENCEAt least one year related experienceQualified by training, education, and experience in providing nursing care for chemically addicted patients and patients withdrawing from alcohol and/or drugsWORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in an indoor medical clinical environment.This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
