Afteroon Nurse Manager (RN)

Imperial a Villa Center is seeking a Nurse Manager RN to join their team! The Nurse Manager RN manages the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the DON or Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Nurse Manager RN Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the nursing staff, scheduling breaks, reassigning employees from one area to another area as facility needs dictate, writing performance reviews, and enforcing policies with responsibility to issue Coaching and Corrective Action, as needed.
- Responsible for recruitment, training, clinical orientation, supervision, scheduling, time cards, and personnel issues in the nursing department.
- Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, as well as other related departments in planning care.
- Develops and maintains care standards.
- Makes frequent rounds to note resident/patient conditions and to ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
- Gives and receives the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
- Ensures assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, med. Cart, medication room, etc.), resident/patient care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
- Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the residents response to the care.
- Monitors residents on a daily basis in order to observe and evaluate each residents physical and emotional status.
- Follows and adheres to company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) compliance.
- All other duties, as assigned.
Nurse Manager RN Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal and team development skills.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and delegate to others.
- Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.
- Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
Nurse Manager RN Education and Experience:
- Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
- Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Long-Term care and MDS experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
- Meet all health requirements as needed.
