We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals who demonstrate a natural desire to support the meaningful work of community oncologists and the patients we serve.Job Description:SCOPE: Works within a collaborative model to provide high quality patient care and improve patient outcomes by strengthening continuity of care in all settings for cancer patients, families and staff in accordance with mutually agreed upon protocols.FUNCTIONS:1. Assists the MDs in providing professional medical services to patients in accordance with standards of care.2. Demonstrated ability to provide quality initial and follow-up care and symptom management3. Provides active participation and physician assistance in all specified aspects of clinical operations4. Provides routine and special educational information, in-services and support to patients, staff and community programs as needed.5. Uses internal and external resources to resolve and assist in managing patient/customer concerns. Participates in activities that contribute to ongoing professional development of self and the nursing profession.QUALIFICATIONS:Master's Degree or completion of a certificate program as a Nurse Practitioner required.Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program approved by the Louisiana Board of Nursing and the Board of Medical Examiners and Family Nurse Practitioner certification.Registered nurse licensed in the state of Louisiana.Minimum of three years' experience in woman's health care.SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:Thorough knowledge of patient care procedures and medical guidelines in the area of women's health and other areas.Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of general medicine and diseases as they relate to women's health.Considerable knowledge of diagnostic tests and findings and therapeutic procedures as they relate to Medical Oncology.
