Job Description:

We are seeking an NP with critical care/OR/ ER experience who would like to also build skills in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. We will train you to serve as First Assist during surgical procedures, assist with patient evaluation and management during recovery, and provide patient and family education. As the extension of the surgeon, the NP must be a self-starter, able to take direction, diligent, and possess the ability to communicate effectively with the surgeon, staff, patients, and their families. Additionally there are opportunities to significantly increase total compensation through on call and travel bonuses when traveling with the surgical travel team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • First Assist during surgical procedures.
  • Assist in the clinic as needed.
  • Work alongside our Surgery Center Director to ensure the OR runs smoothly.
  • Assist and perform consultations.
  • Assist with in-office procedures.
  • Contribute to the surgeon s efficiency by identifying and addressing patient care issues.
  • Implement the surgeon s directives.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, continuing education, and establishing a professional network.
  • Expand cosmetic service market share.
  • Inventory management and ordering.

Requirements:

  • Active NY Nurse Practitioner, dual license in NY/NJ HIGHLY DESIRED
  • Willingness to quickly obtain APNP license in multiple states

Qualifications:

  • People-Oriented: able to provide support, have excellent bedside manner and objective counseling to patients.
  • ER/OR Critical care experience highly preferred
  • Outcome-Oriented: results-focused with demonstrated history of accomplishing challenging tasks.
  • Team-Oriented: effective communicator, cooperative, collaborative, and able to accept constructive criticism.
  • Organized: must have good time management skills, be reliable, hard-working, and detailed oriented.

This is a full-time position. The work schedule alternates between 4 10-hour days and 3 12-hour days each week spread between Monday - Friday with one Saturday per month and some evenings. We offer health benefits, 401k, paid vacation, CME education contribution, and a competitive salary.
