Job DescriptionOur client, a Health Center providing affordable healthcare to the underserved and vulnerable in New York City, is hiring a Nurse Practitioner. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive care to families as well as engage in health promotion activities. Provide care to a panel of adult patients on a continuing basis Evaluation and management of acute and chronic medical conditions Initial assessment and management of mental health conditions Ordering and analyzing necessary diagnostic tests using high value care principles and EBM to inform clinical decision-making Prescribing appropriate treatment and/or medication in an evidence-based manner and within the scope of licensure Advising patients on treatment recommendations, lifestyle modifications, and age-appropriate preventive screenings Referring patients for consultant services when necessary. Requirements: Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner A master's degree is required Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program is required Current and valid NYS license DEA certificate BLS Infection control certificate AAHIVM certification and/or LGBT health certification is a plus.
