Urgent need for Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) in New York, NYPRN- NP onlyVaccination Requirements: COVID RequiredTotal Number of FTE s needed: 3 PRN- NP onlySchedule:Coverage Dates: 11/01 31/24. 13 weeks with opportunity to extendSchedule Details: 6:30a- 8 pm, Mon Fri, no holidays, no weekends, no nights. 1hr lunch break unpaid. This is a PRN need based on providers' availability and the hospital's needs. Must be available to work 2 shifts monthly.Daily Responsibilities: The Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides all aspects of care to patients in the outpatient Thoracic Surgery, a fast-paced busy clinic and office. The Thoracic NP cares for Thoracic surgery population with wide variety of diagnoses, surgeries, and needs. The Thoracic NP is integral to the uninterrupted outpatient clinic and office flow, collaborating with the numerous Thoracic Surgeons and interventional pulmonologist. Coverage is provided during weekdays by the NP s. They work closely with the collaborating Physicians to maintain a smooth uninterrupted clinic flow. Their roles include, but not limited to: new patient evaluations, follow-up, pre-op, and post-op clinic visits, full evaluation & examination of patients, writing plan of care, write prescriptions, order and review tests, review labs & radiology results, follow up phone calls, return both online & phone messages from patients and their families, video visits, charting, consenting, pre op check list review, OR and bronchoscopy charts review, peer to peer authorization with insurance for tests, surgeries, & procedures approval, book surgeries and various types of procedures, fill out disability paperwork, write letters for patients, checking NPs and physicians Epic in-basket messages to ensure all are addressed by MDs & NPs and documentations are completed in timely mannerProgram Model 6 surgeons total, 2-3 NP s running clinic within a day, 2 or 3 NP s per dayCall Schedule/Responsibilities: N/APractice Details:Patients per Day/Volume: 25-35 combined split between 2-3 NP s variableProcedures Required: Basic procedures, surgical drains, feeding tubes and staple/suture removal, and occasional help with thoracentesis.• If procedures are required, backup specialties are available:EMR: EpicMiscellaneous Information: Must have 2 years of outpatient experience or inpatient with thoracic surgery.Requirements:Education Requirements: Must be BCActive State License Required: Active NY license requiredIf interested can share your CV on my email.
