About the Company - Join a dynamic and growing cancer program! The Division of Hematology and Oncology at Kings County is looking for a dedicated, patient-centered nurse practitioner (NP). Kings County is part of NYC Health & Hospitals and is a major academic affiliate of SUNY Downstate.
About the Role - The NP will work alongside the Hematology and Oncology attending physicians at Kings County to care for primarily patients with cancer. In this role, you will be an integral member of the cancer team. You will help us grow and build an efficient, high-quality cancer service. Responsibilities will include primarily clinical care of patients, as well as administrative and educational activities for the cancer center if desired.
Responsibilities - Adult Hematology and Oncology with a focus on outpatient care. You will learn the management of these cases in this role. Oncology experience is not necessary, but preferred.
Required Skills - Job responsibilities and day-to-day tasks include:
Qualifications - A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED); and Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the NYSED; and Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Skills - Strongly prefer National Board Certification in specialty in which you are assigned.
