SCHEDULE Per-diem Flexible schedule SUMMARY Family Service League is seeking a per-diem Nurse Practitioner for our DASH Program in Hauppauge. The Nurse Practitioner will provide psychiatric assessments, health monitoring, and medication management in an outpatient, 24 hour per day, 7 day per week crisis stabilization program. The Nurse Practitioner will report to the Director of Clinical Crisis and Stabilization Services. RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Nurse Practitioner will conduct psychiatric and crisis assessments.
- Provide medication management to children, adolescents and adults with a full range of DSM diagnoses (including co-occurring disorders) in acute care, outpatient setting.
- Ensure the health and safety of staff and clients during emergencies.
- Health monitoring (including vital signs).
- Administer intramuscular injections.
- Complete all clinical documentation in an electronic medical record in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health regulations.
- The Nurse Practitioner will provide covered medications through telehealth or other means, when needed.
- Attend routine supervision/team meetings.
- Complete training and ongoing maintenance of de-escalation and crisis intervention skills.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve goals of the organization.
- Assess situations to determine importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
- Set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Licensure (including DEA credentials) required. Waiver to prescribe Medication Assisted Treatment required. At least 1 year of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting required. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required. Electronic Health Record experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team required. Valid and clean NYS Driver's License required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS General computing and keyboarding skills. Ability to administer IM injections. Ability to take patient vitals.
