SITE OF SERVICE:•The work to be performed under this contract will be at Camp Grayling, Grayling Michigan 49738.•HCWs shall receive notification two weeks prior to the reassignment to another location.POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS: •Degree: Master's or Doctoral level degree in nursing. •Education: Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).•Certification: HCW must be nationally certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Pursuing certification will not be accepted - No waiver. •Advanced Cardiac Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS certification. •Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration. The licenses and registration must be renewed and maintained in a current status during the life of the contract.•Experience: HCW shall have current experience in rendering primary care with a minimum of one (2) years of experience within the past three (3) years. Routinely practicing primary care medicine (Family Practice, General Medicine, Internal Medicine. New graduates of a nursing program or HCWs with less than two years current clinical practice are not eligible. •Licensure: Shall have and maintain a valid, unrestricted state license in any state in the United States, District of Columbia, or the territory of Puerto Rico to practice medicine. The license must be renewed and maintained in a current status during the life of the contract. •U.S. Citizenship: HCWs performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.•English Language Requirement: The Contractor shall ensure that all HCWs providing services under this contract are able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.•HCW Physical Capability: HCWs shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.•The HCPs performing under this Contract shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough, and enunciate with sufficient clarity to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.•Any Contract HCP personnel found to be unacceptable in administering skills required by the contract shall be immediately released from duty by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). The COR will immediately notify the Contracting Officer.•The Contractor HCP shall assume additional administrative or clinical duties as requested or needed to ensure sustainment of normal clinic operations and compliance with JC standards to include upholding established patient care and practice standards and participating in all mandatory training. HCPs may be assigned to other clinics in the IRAHC, Camp Atterbury, or Camp Grayling footprint on a temporary basis as needed or for additional on-the-job training.•Verify the content and correctness of all prepared reports by affixing his/her own signature and stamp to all copies of the document and validating contents.CORE DUTIES: •Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (Military Treatment Facility) (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).•Technically direct and teach other staff, provide evidenced-based educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members.•Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.•Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.•Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.•Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.•Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement and safety.HOURS: Monday through Sunday, between the hours 0700 - 1630, with a half hour unpaid lunch. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLSMust be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential.
