Castle Connolly has named Axia Women's Health its #1 Physician Practice in the United States for Women's Health. Lexington Women's Health, an Axia Women's Health care center, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join their growing team.

- Provider Team: 4 OB/GYNs, 2 GYN only, 5 NPs, 2 CNMs, & Growing
- Affiliated with Baptist Health - Lexington
- Monday to Friday, No Weekends!
The Nurse Practitioner performs physical examinations, confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care. Other job duties include but are not limited to:
- Practices under the standard procedure established for the NP role, consistent with Company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.
- Performs IUD insertions and removals, endometrial Biopsies, and works with Pessaries (educating and maintenance). May perform Colposcopies.
- Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
- Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
- Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
- Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to assure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
- Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
- Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
- Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
- Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
- Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.
- Assists with daily patient phone triage.
- Performs other duties associated with the APP role.
- May assist with rounding at Baptist Health Hospital - Lexington.
Qualifications:
- Active KY APRN license, and DEA.
- NP Board Certification, WHNP-BC highly preferred.
- At least one year Obstetrics experience; Experience as an advanced practice provider in Women's Health required.
- Eligible to participate in state programs including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid
