Join a collegiate group of healthcare professionals as a Pre-Admission Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. The APP provides direct care functions including, but not limited to pre-operative history and physical exams, ordering medications and lab testing, and education of the patient and family in regards to pre-surgical assessment. Knowledge necessary to perform these functions include: skills in evaluating laboratory data, EKG, and diagnostic studies interpretation; skills in assessing, planning and implementing a plan of care in anticipation for surgery for patients and families, while collaborating with nursing staff, physicians and ancillary staff, practice protocols as designated in agreement with supervising/collaborating physician. Requirements Nurse Practitioner First Assist Current New York State RN license. experience in pertinent areas of nursing practice. graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred. National certification as Nurse Practitioner or active pursuit within one year. Physician Assistant Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's Degree preferred. National certification as Physician Assistant or eligible. current New York State PA license or eligible. DEA eligible.
