MAJOR FUNCTION:
The per diem role would be 1-2 days per week (Wednesday is a priority) 7 a.m.-5 p.m.Pre-Admission Testing experience requiredThe advanced practice provider (Nurse Practitioner) within the Pre-Admission Testing department under the guidance of Anesthesia, is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team ensuring patients are optimized for surgery. The per diem role would be 1-2 days per week (Wednesday is a priority) 7 a.m.-5 p.m.Role Includes but is not limited to:
- Completes physical assessments on pre-surgical patients
- Reviews H&Ps, diagnostic testing, laboratory testing, and other supporting information.
- Assesses for risks associated with the care of the acute and complex chronically ill patient including medication side effects, mobility, impaired nutrition, fluid and electrolyte imbalance, immunocompetence, and diagnostic procedures.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, including RNs, Anesthesia, Surgeons, office managers, surgical scheduling, and surgical services leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience: - 3+ years NP experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and completed master's or postgraduate certificate Nurse Practitioners' program.
- High quality of nursing competence and advanced leadership skills.
Certification/Licensure: - Current registration with NJ State Board of Nursing.
- Certified by nationally recognized nurse practitioner organization.
- BLS Certification required.
- ACLS preferred.
