Job Type Full-timeDescriptionMedix Infusion is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team in Pflugerville, TX. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides operational and clinical oversight for the infusion center, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. The NP supervises and supports the clinical team (e.g., Medical Assistants, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Registered Nurses) to deliver safe, effective infusion therapy. Responsibilities include confirming the appropriateness of prescribed treatments, reviewing required assessments, and ensuring all pre-administration safety protocols are met. This is an onsite opportunity at our clinic, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, working with a small, supportive team in a professional and collaborative environment.Medix Infusion is a technology-driven healthcare platform dedicated to enhancing patient care and access to infusion therapies. We specialize in disease management and infusion pharmacy services for chronic and acutely ill patients, especially those in underserved communities. We offer personalized home and in-suite infusion therapies, ensuring convenience and comfort. Our expert team provides a comprehensive range of treatments, including anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectables, making each patient's journey as smooth as possible.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to clinical team members, including conducting performance evaluations, training, and skills assessments.
  • Partner with the Regional Nurse Manager to manage staffing levels, hiring, orientation, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Foster teamwork, motivation, and effective communication across all clinic staff.
  • Resolve operational and personnel challenges within your scope of responsibility.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, patient-centered infusion therapy by verifying treatment protocols, lab results, screenings, and patient assessments.
  • Deliver direct patient care, including physical examinations, health screenings, and administering medications (e.g., IV infusions, injections).
  • Oversee infusion suite workflows to optimize patient experience, efficiency, and safety.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient care, including medical history, test results, and care plans.
  • Collaborate with referring providers regarding patient care and ensure seamless communication.
  • Oversee the financial and operational management of infusion therapies, working collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as patient outcomes, staff productivity, and chair efficiency.
  • Develop and implement best practices for infusion center operations in partnership with Pharmacy and Procurement teams.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, INS standards, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure clinical policies, safety protocols, and infection control procedures meet established standards.
  • Conduct regular training and education to ensure clinical staff are knowledgeable about infusion therapy best practices.
  • Educate patients and caregivers about their condition, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
  • Perform venipuncture, PICC line care, and other procedures with strict adherence to aseptic techniques.
  • Obtain and evaluate verbal orders, lab work, and diagnostic tests to ensure appropriate therapy.
  • Serve as the point of contact for patient consultation and remote health history reviews.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's in Science of Nursing (MSN) or equivalent advanced nursing degree with APRN certification.
  • Current, unrestricted APRN license in the state of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Experience managing infusion or ancillary healthcare services.
  • Specialty certifications such as OCN, CRNI, or IgNS.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, and maintain positive team dynamics.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and service excellence.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and infusion therapy standards.
