Description Seeking experienced, energetic, upbeat, collaborative person to join our patient services team at Albany Gastroenterology Consultants - a leading provider of gastroenterology medical services in the area. This culture of caring creates a truly special place to work. JOB OVERVIEW:
- Provide gastroenterological care to patients through initial inpatient consultations and follow ups and office visits
- Obtain detailed history and physical examination
- Curate differential diagnoses, order appropriate diagnostic tests, and interpret results
- Prescribe appropriate treatments and order necessary inpatient procedures
- Make thorough, accurate, and concise entries into medical EHR
- Ensure patients are adequately prepped and cleared for procedures
- Triage new consultations and update hospital census/billing documents
- Respond to correspondence from hospitalists, consultants, ER, and transfer center
- Communicate with family members for collateral history, obtain consent for procedures, and to update them on patient's status
- Explain test results and procedures with patients and their families
- Strategize and coordinate path for additional outpatient care
- Manage workflow in the hospital setting so physicians can devote time to procedures and higher level activities
- Communicate with physicians for patient presentations and to alert them of critical findings
- Treat patients with dignity, without bias, and with the highest standard of care
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current NYS license and certification
- Current BLS Certification required
- Prior office, hospital and gastroenterology experience a plus
