In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Once employed, employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Random background checks are performed. Credit checks may be performed on candidates/employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) may be performed during the hiring process, or as part of a random check. MVR checks are required to meet insurance requirements for those employees operating a university vehicle or participating in any driving activity on behalf of Brenau University, (including operating a golf cart, rented vehicle or one's personal vehicle). Employees who travel must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid Georgia driver's license, and good driving record. All employees who operate university vehicles, who are employed in a sensitive position, or who travel regularly as part of their job responsibilities may be subject to post-hire drug screening and random drug-screening.   • Have a minimum of a doctoral degree in nursing or related field
  • Board Certified as an NP
  • Management experience strongly preferred
  • Have appropriate experience in the practice of professional nursing and education
  • Current Georgia nursing license in good standing with Georgia Board of Nursing
  • Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers required
  • Excellent academic credentials in teaching, scholarship, and service
  • Duties and Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: This position will oversee all aspects of the NP programs in Norcross, GA. The primary duties of this position include:
    • Acts as a liaison between the ELMSN, ABSN, traditional BSN, and graduate nursing programs to ensure that the NP programs are in synchrony with the expected outcomes of the Mary Inez Grindle School of Nursing (MIGSON).
    • Provides leadership for faculty in the NP programs to increase effectiveness in teaching excellence, service and leadership, scholarship and performs faculty evaluation.
    • Recruits, hires and orients adjunct clinical faculty
    • Ensures orientation and mentoring of new NP faculty to support advancement and retention.
    • Communicates the priorities and works to align the school of nursing goals and initiatives with these priorities.
    • Provides direction, often with other coordinators, chairs, directors and deans, for development and implementation of new curricula, programs, partnerships and/or modes of delivery that address areas of need.
    • Interacts and openly communicates with the director, director of operations, chairs of the school of nursing, faculty, and appropriate university offices of Brenau University.
    • Promotes a culture of assessment and improvement, supports and assists in the development and assessment of student learning outcomes.
    • Provides direction and support for curriculum development and implementation including review of course syllabi for appropriate rigor, level and alignment.
    • Ensures effective advising and communication with all students regarding curriculum, academic initiatives, connections to communities of practice, and other matters as needed.
    • Assists in the recruitment and retention of students.
    • Works with admissions to review transcripts and qualifications for admissions. Answers and fields inquiry emails related to program questions. Provides online consultations with potential applicants and as well individual student consultations on campus to discuss the program and expectations. Continuously monitors students' progress towards full admission status.
    • Participates in recruiting events with admissions and provides group information sessions to review transcripts, complete admission applications, register students and highlight the program opportunities.
    • Works integrally with admissions staff related to overall aspects of the admission process through frequent meetings.
    • Works with appropriate accrediting agencies to maintain approval of all accredited programs.
    • Coordinates with the Richards Endowed Chair with students scheduled course offerings and submits to the registrar's office.
    • Assists with faculty and staff personnel issues in accordance with established policies of Brenau University.
    • Represents the school of nursing to others outside of the university.
    • Maintain teaching loads across the academic year commiserate with the position
    • All other duties as requested or assigned.
    Environmental and Working Conditions: Normal environment found in an educational setting. Some exposure to outdoors and varying weather conditions may be required. Physical Demands and Aptitudes: Some lifting and or carrying objects weighing 25 + lbs may be required. Work Hours: 37.5 - 40 hours per week. Generally Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5p.m. Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department. Home Campus Designation: This position is an on-ground position in Gainesville, GA.
