Location: Mineola,NY, USA
Position will be 10-15 hours per week. Two shifts will be during the day (ex 8:30m-12:30pm or 10am-2pm) and one shift will be evening hours 4pm-8pm.MAIN FUNCTION:To assist in maintaining a highest quality of care to all patients.To act as health coordinator.User role(s) information systems access as assigned, where applicable.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Document all pertinent nursing care matters in client's EMR.Provide Nursing Assessment and consultation to perspective and actual patients.Maintain records of all infection control matters pertaining to patients and or staff.Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.Maintain log (if applicable) for medications or other solutions (ie., PPD solution, Naltrexone, Buprenorphine) stored at facility along with destruction/expiration information.Assure the provision of education, risk reduction, counseling and referral services to all patients regarding HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases and other communicable diseases.Follow universal precautions and utilize the appropriate infection control measures.Supervise samesex urine sample collection for toxicology.Administer breathalyzer and alcohol swabs.Attend job related meetings and inservice lectures.Inform office manager of general office and medical supplies as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:Perform Admission Nursing Assessment and make appropriate nursing diagnoses based on that assessment.Assess client's psychiatric history and current psychiatric status.Administer medications as ordered by the physician (MAT programs), understand basic pharmacology, planting and reading of PPDs (intradermal skin test).Proficient in basic nursing skills and also competent in taking an electrocardiogram and blood pressure.Age specific clinical skills related to the adolescent and geriatric client.Proficient in computer usage including EMR system, Microsoft Outlook and other information systems.EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:Current New York State Registered Nurse licensure, CPR certification.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those functions that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.The employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach.The position may on occasion require the employee to stoop kneel or crouch.The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned and makes general observations. $35 - $37 per hour
