Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.On site dailySupervises LPNs and/or Medical AssistantsMaintains emergency medical kit at each location.Develop and implement a plan to have staff and patients, where appropriate, trained in the prescribed in the use of Narcan kit.Support patients in the (self) administration of medicationDocumentation of (self) administration of medicationPerforms TB and Drug screenings on all patients within 72 hours of admissions.Performs routine urine drug screens as directed by the treatment/recovery plan.Monitors and records vital signs.Provides triage and provides medical services accordingly.Performs TB screenings on all patients.For patients with health care needs, schedules, and coordinates all medical appointments, and provides periodic follow-up.Reviews and transcribes medication orders and monitors medication records for compliance.Observes and records response to treatment/medication and notifies the Medical Director, the Director or Nursing, and the Program Director of any such instances.Monitors ongoing/chronic medical problems.Manages minor needs of patients including attending to minor injuries, administering routine medications.Maintains all medical records.Performs QA activities.EKGPerforms accurate and complete audits of medication transported, received, administered, stored, or disposed, as trained, and assigned, in accordance with Phoenix House medication policies and procedures.Remains current with all training as directed by Phoenix HouseCOMPETENCIES (KSAs)Ethical PracticesJudgmentRelationship ManagementTime ManagementEmpathyProfessional BoundariesGlobal and Cultural AwarenessCritical EvaluationProblem SolvingDecision MakingCommunicationTeamworkCrisis ManagementTechnical CapacityQualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATIONRN with valid NYS licenseREQUIRED EXPERIENCEAt least three years related experience.Qualified by training, education, and experience in providing nursing care for chemically addicted patients and patients withdrawing from alcohol and or drugs.REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONSNPI NumberMedicaid / Medicare Number (preferred)WORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in an indoor office environment.
