Nurses Aide - Part-Time JobID: 764Position Type:Child Study Team/Teacher AideDate Posted:11/18/2024Location:Vernon Township High SchoolDate Available:11/01/2024Additional Information: Show/HideNurse's Aide (Part-Time)REPORTS TO: Certified classroom teacher, principal and curriculum supervisorsQUALIFICATIONS:* High School Diploma or equivalent* Experience as required by the position* Ability to assist with instructional activities and to communicate effectively with students and school staff* Knowledge of diverse needs of children with disabilities and appropriate special education classroom practices* Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien statusJOB GOAL:To assist the nurse by working with transfering/changing of students and any other required assistance.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:(Include but not limited to)* Assists with students as instructed by the school nurse.* Helps with the supervision of students.* Assists in building related activities.* Supervise students in the nurse's office to ensure a safe environment.* Promote independence.* Become familiar with the needs of the students he/she is responsible for.* Perform routine clerical tasks such as photocopying, filing and maintaining student records as directed by the nurse.* Assist with taking daily attendance and maintaining accurate records, when required.* Communicate effectively and professionally with students, teachers, parents and other staff members.* Maintain confidentiality at all times.* Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the nurse or administrator.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Salary and work year to be determined as mutually agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
