Job SummaryProvides basic nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Requires knowledge, technique, and skills to therapeutically meet the needs of assigned medical-surgical patients. Responsible for performing a variety of assigned tasks. Must be able to identify each patient's age-specific needs and provide care appropriately.Job Specification* Minimum Education Required* A high school graduate or equivalent.* Minimum Experience Required* A minimum of 1 year experience with direct patient care preferred.* Licensure/Certification Required* Successful completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant Program preferred.* Must be BLS certified required (or obtain within one month of hire).Skills* Must demonstrate commitment to service excellence and performance improvement.* Must demonstrate interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families and other members of the health care team.* Must possess the ability to utilize the hospital computer system.* Must work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide direct patient care and report patient changes to the Registered Nurse.Shift* Rotation
