UPMC Chautauqua HospitalJamestown, NYMental Health UnitEmbrace a rewarding opportunity at UPMC as a Nursing Assistant, where you'll make a meaningful impact delivering exceptional patient care during our dynamic and supportive night shifts!Responsibilities:Provide direct patient care, including activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, etc.) under RN direction.Maintain a safe and clean environment by completing safety checks, organizing patient rooms, and managing equipment and linens.Assist in patient care delivery by distributing supplies, setting up equipment, and stocking rooms and supply areas.Perform core nursing assistant duties such as monitoring vital signs, collecting specimens, documenting care, and supporting ADLs.Support patient safety and recovery by delivering nourishments, assisting with restraints, and offering diversional activities.Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, demonstrating cultural awareness, professionalism, and respect.Respond promptly to patient needs, including call lights, meal tray delivery, and patient transportation.Participate in self-review, training, and constructive feedback to enhance skills and performance.Adhere to all safety policies, including infection control and emergency response protocolsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Successful completion of UPMC nursing assistant or EIC training programAccess to medications is limited to the distribution of the medication to the nurse.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireCCM training is required within 60 days of hire and annually thereafter.Basic Life Support issued by the AHA within 30 days of hire/transfer.Basic Life Support (BLS)Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)NYS Staff Exclusion List (NYSEL)NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse (NYSCR)UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
