Join our dedicated team at UPMC Chautauqua, providing compassionate care and making a difference as a Nursing Assistant on our Chemical Dependency Unit!Shift: Night ShiftStatus: CasualResponsibilities:Direct Patient Care: Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, and repositioning patients.Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and organized environment by completing safety checks, cleaning patient rooms, and ensuring hallways are clear of equipment.Monitoring and Documentation: Record vital signs, weights, I&O, and perform specimen collections, restraint application/removal, and other nursing assistant core tasks.Patient Support: Deliver meals, fill water pitchers, and provide diversional activities to reduce restraint use.Equipment and Supplies: Acquire, distribute, and manage patient care equipment and supplies, including stocking and setup.Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, report patient status changes, and provide feedback to RNs.Clerical Duties: Document care, complete necessary paperwork, and respond to call lights and telephones.Patient Supervision: Provide one-on-one companionship and supervision as required for patient safety.High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience with mental health or chemical dependency preferredStrong communication skills, both oral and written.Limited medication handling restricted to distribution to the nurse.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (AHA standards) required within 30 days of hire.Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCM) training within 60 days of hire and annually thereafter.New York State Fingerprint Check (may work provisionally for 30 days).Clearances required: NYS Staff Exclusion List (NYSEL) and NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse (NYSCR)UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
