Job OverviewThe Nurse Professional Development (NPD) Generalist works collaboratively to assess, identify, plan, implement, coordinate, facilitate and evaluate educational activities through a systems model. This includes the tools, theories, skills, and knowledge of professional development to improve healthcare practice of learners based on the Association of Nurse Professional Development (ANPD) Practice Model.Using expertise in education and professional development practices, the NPD Generalist collaborates with Talent Development and Nursing Leadership to implement and evaluate professional development programs that influence professional role competence, continuous learning and growth, promotes interprofessional collaboration practices throughout the organization, and advances the NPD practice in accordance with ANPD Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing Practice.Roles will include that of learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for nursing professional development, and a partner in practice transition.Responsibilities
- Provide support in the areas of orientation and onboarding, education, role development, competency and performance management.
- Support the needs of the clinical learner and the organization, beginning with newly hired clinical employees and continuing on through the expert clinician.
- Model the application of evidence-based practice in all areas of teaching and learning.
- Provide direction and support through strategic planning to meet employees' educational needs as identified through needs assessments, regulatory agency requirements, quality outcomes data, and leadership direction.
- Serve as a role model and expert for clinical educators and advocates for their continued growth and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Required
- 3 years of nursing experience required
