As a member of the Nursing Organization leadership team, the Director of Nursing Resources provides oversight, management and expertise, with the knowledge, critical thinking and analytical skills required to establish operational and capital budgets, monitor/trend resource utilization and development of strategic plans to achieve organizational fiscal efficiency, optimizing quality of care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational & Capital Budget Planning/Monitoring:
+ Annual operational Budget planning for all expenses including salary and non-salary items and monitoring budget implementation.
+ Annual Capital Budget Planning and tracking throughout the budget process.
+ Preparation/Update Staffing Patterns & Budgeted Quota Planning Sheets.
+ Represents Nursing organization to finalize allocation of patient volume projection from Finance.
+ Development & Administration of Management Systems:
+ System administration for Management Systems including: Patient Classification Systems, Time & Attendance Systems, Enhanced Scheduling Systems, Health Catalyst Data Analytics System Labor Management Explore module.
+ Provides leadership and expertise in data-mining to assist Nursing Leadership with information and analysis from multiple management systems and statistical data bases.
+ Responsible for the integrity of data and data flow through maintenance and validation of mapping tables among multiple systems.
+ Serves as a primary source of staffing and nursing workloads data (i.e. acuity and census) and productivity reports distributed to Nursing/Hospital leadership.
+ Support partners on workforce analytics and planning projects to ensure workforce needs align with business objectives. Gather and analyze data and participate in developing and maintaining such materials as staffing models, metrics, reports, presentations, and dashboards.
+ Represents Nursing organization to participate in external benchmarking system.
+ Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to establish and maintain Nursing Leadership Dashboard.
+ Strategic Planning and Feasibility Analysis for Nursing Initiatives:
+ Evaluate the financial feasibility of current and proposed Nursing Programs and services, providing analysis and recommendations.
+ Identifies trends, external and internal changes that may affect resources, and assist in developing strategies to address these changes.
Development & Monitoring of Pay Practices:
+ Collaborates with Nursing Leadership to develop and implement pay programs promoting consistent and efficient labor management.
+ Represents Nursing organization to coordinate implementation & monitoring pay programs with HR and Payroll.
+ Provides leadership to establish and monitor pay practice guidelines.
Staffing Resource Management:
+ Processes advanced knowledge of staffing resource planning and productivity management concepts, principles and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of the development and management of organizational fiscal management programs.
+ Develops and monitors information systems which analyze productivity and cost benefit, and related fiscal management and personnel utilization to objectives and quality of care.
+ Manages/Monitors Travelers/Agency time reporting and reconciles invoices.
+ Oversees licenses/certification tracking process and compliance.
+ Approves electronic requisitions throughout Nursing Organization to ensure timely/accurate staffing resource management within the budgetary capacity.
Other Responsibilities:
+ Provides education and expertise for management reports available in Scheduling and Patient Classification Systems to Nursing Leadership.
+ Represents Nursing organization for Capacity Change work team and services as primary source of physical/operational bed capacity tracking.
+ Manages and negotiates contracts with the vendors.
+ Works as a liaison between Nursing and Corporate Compliance through concurrent and quarterly focused timecard audits
+ Participates in LEAN training and serves as project participants/sponsors as a staffing/productivity expertise to promote innovative approaches in process improvement organization-wide
+ Acts as a resource of external reporting for staffing data to meet regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
+ Master's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration - preferred
+ 7-9 years of hospital/healthcare setting experience - required
+ 4-6 years of supervisory/managerial experience - preferred
+ Competent in knowledge and proficiency in computer technology.
+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional, business, financial and legal documents.
+ Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with various range of audiences from top management to staff members.
+ Ability to organize and facilitate interdepartmental meetings.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
+ Ability to analyze complex data and synthesize.
+ Ability to interpret financial and healthcare statistical data.
+ Ability to demonstrate trends/findings using statistical tools.
+ RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license. Upon Hire - preferred
