Job Title: Nursing Scheduler Pay rate = $25 per hour
Main Function: To perform clerical duties and maintain nursing schedules
Reports to: Director of Nursing Services
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Prepares staffing schedule for full personnel coverage for all shifts in the nursing department.
+ Receives logs and verifies all nursing staff requests for time off i.e. vacation, personal leave, holiday time etc. and determines feasibility of scheduling.
+ Receives and logs all call-in's received to the Nursing Department and logs call in's into payroll system, maintains daily call in log sheet in the nursing office. Updates master schedule and unit schedules when-ever there is a change in schedule or notifies staff to fill voids in staffing pattern when a call-in is received.
+ Completes and posts daily staffing levels as mandated per State and Federal Regulations.
+ Answers telephone calls to the nursing office in a professional manner, and directs calls appropriately. Takes messages in a thorough manner and provides responsible person with such message in a timely manner.
+ Performs clerical functions for the Director of Nursing.
+ Completes payroll edits for nursing department.
+ Completes form for Nurse Aide re-certification, and submits to Primary instructor for signature.
+ Maintains log sheet for all licensed nurses and Certified Nurse Aides to maintain compliance with license/certification renewals.
+ Tracks staff attendance tardiness as per community protocol and provides Director of Nursing/Supervisor with information to ensure timely disciplinary action is taken as indicated.
+ Attends in-service sessions as required.
+ Performs other duties as directed by Director of Nursing.
+ Notifies Human Resources of staffing changes i.e. full time to part-time status and part-time to full time status.
+ Notifies Director/Assistant Director of Nursing of changes and of shortage of personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Must have exceptional computer skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
+ Experience using a Scheduling system preferred - will need to learn/master our Scheduling software in our Paycom payroll system
+ Must be able to multi task
+ Must be very organized
+ Education- High School graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
