Our Maintenance Team at Seal Rock supports our entire Atlantic Heights Community which includes The Inn, an 80 apartment assisted living and The Cottages, 45 independent living cottages. PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Director of Nursing in the administrative operations of the nursing department.
Position Responsibilities:
Completes and tracks (utilizing a tracing system) Medicare certifications and re-certifications per regulatory requirements for Skilled Nursing Facilities.
* Audits and tracks (utilizing a tracking system) Medicare (MCR) charting documentation in electronic health record to ensure a complete note has been written that supports evidence of a skilled benefit.
* Provides education to licensed staff as needed to ensure compliance with Medicare charting requirements.
* Completes sections of the Triple Check process as designated by the Director of Nursing and validates completion of process by all departments prior to sending to Administrator/DON for approval.
* Collect designated metrics and populate Quality Dashboard for required organization reporting to corporation.
* Completes audits of nursing records. Examples include however not limited to: Monthly summaries, quarterly documentation, exception reports, wound documentation; admission and discharge records, etc. and report variances to Director of Nursing.
* Collects, tracks and reports data: falls, medication errors, infections, etc. Provide reports to designated committees.
* Reviews daily shift to shift report book and follows up on items such as when a resident starts an antibiotic that there is the proper doc. set up for monitoring and a care plan.
* Completes weekly order checks. Sends unsigned orders to physicians to ensure compliance with regulations.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the administrator.
* Collect and input data into designated systems. Examples include yet not limited to NHSN, HETL, etc.
* Set-up staff in facility systems as designated by Director of Nursing. Examples include yet not limited to electronic medical record, lab vendor, HealthInfoNet (HIN), etc.
* Review designated invoices, validate and address variances prior to final approval by Administrator/DON.
* Collaborate with Nursing Scheduler and DON to assure new hire paperwork is completed timely.
* Facilitate educational content of new hire orientation process as designated by DON.
* Track and manage durable medical equipment (DME) and personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated by DON.
* Update facility's master policy and procedure manuals as new/revised policies are released and quarterly to assure they are aligned with those housed in the First Atlantic libraries.
* Other duties as designated by the Director of Nursing or Administrator
Safety, Sanitation and Environmental
* Follow established standard and safety precautions in the performance of all duties.
* Report to the Director of Plant Operations or Supervisor any hazardous condition or equipment immediately.
* Participate in all annual mandatory in- services.
* Participate in environmental, recycling and/or waste initiatives implemented in the facility.

Knowledge, Skills and Availability:
* A high school diploma required. Associates degree in business, health occupations, or related field preferred.
* Must be able to write the English language in a legible and understandable manner.
* Ability to operate basic office machines and computer software. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
* Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
* Must be highly organized and able to multi-task under pressure.
* Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
