This position is ideal for those who enjoy nutrition education and counseling, breastfeeding promotion, and empowering families through community nutrition.Provides WIC certifications including health history, anthropometrics, immunization screening, hemoglobin, evaluation of risk status, nutrition and health counseling, prescription of WIC food package, documentation, and high risk referrals following program standards and protocols. Provides Level 1 and Level 2 counseling and support within their scope of practice to new mothers. Issues breast pumps to WIC certified breastfeeding participants according to policy.Develops, conducts, and evaluates group nutrition education for WIC participants following the facilitated learning process. Relevant professional nutrition experience in a clinical, public health, or institutional setting will be considered in lieu of the educational requirements upon Human Resources' approval. •Must have or be willing to be trained in the specialized technical skills required to collect screening information and anthropometric measurements. •Able to provide nutrition education, health promotion, and disease prevention education to clients. •This position requires practical knowledge of the principles of adult learning.
