General Purpose and Scope of Position:The primary role of the plant operator is to assist in producing aquaculture feed products and in quality control, maintenance, and facility cleanliness in daily activities. The roles of the Plant Operator vary based on experience and expertise. This role may include operating equipment such as an extruder, grinder, mixer, pellet machine, or working in the warehouse. These roles also include packaging, filling, assisting in the formulation, or housekeeping. Candidates are well-driven self-starters who can work with a close-knit team to meet customers' demands efficiently.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required
- Willingness to operate material handling equipment, including forklift and other equipment, as required
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs
- Manual dexterity requires being on your feet for long periods and working in a production environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and complete the necessary documentation. Ability to read and write English is required.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:- Work production line according to production scheduled production job
- Inspect all materials for cleanliness and integrity. Report any issues before processing
- Documentation as required in all aspects of job duties
- Learn and train all the roles needed at the plant (mixing, bagging, forklift, container loading, etc.)
- Operate processing equipment as outlined in SOP's
- Maintain facility cleanliness throughout all operations
- Perform Quality Control while handling products
- Accurately document tasks performed (processing, maintenance, cleaning, etc.)
- Responsible for reporting safety/food safety problems to management, up to and including stopping a production line
- Maintain all current training.
- Comply with all Food Safety Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, FDA and OSHA guidelines, and Federal and State workplace laws.
- Able to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlook
- Perform other duties assigned by management professionally and efficiently.
- Night Shift 6:00 pm - 6:00 am Monday - Thursday; 10 hour shifts.
Compensation and Benefits:- In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $15.10 - $20.26/hr. Wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for many benefits, such as vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
