Job Type Part-timeDescriptionA Nutritional Services Assistant completes set-up, serving and clean up in the cafeteria, maintaining proper temperatures within the strictest sanitation standards. Portions salads and dessert for patients. Scheduled workdays and times could vary and will include weekends. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports and promotes an environment conducive with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.
- Washes dishes
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work area per daily and weekly schedule.
- Portions salads and desserts for patients (refer to workflow 7A)
- Maintains an orderly condition of assigned work area.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patients, hospital, and physician related information
- Is knowledgeable of general hospital and department specific policies and procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned and are subject to change with or without prior notice.

- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Graduation from high school is preferred.
- Must have the ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Knowledge of sanitation process required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Food Handlers Sanitation Certificate or willing to obtain within 30 days.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing and walking
- Required to climb, balance, stoop and kneel.
- Required to use arms, hands, and fingers for repetitive grasping, pulling, and pushing and feeling.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Any workload exceeding 50 pounds will require assistance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Potential exposure to chemicals and communicable diseases
- Could be subject to mechanical hazards.
- Requires working in hot and cold temperatures.
- The noise level is quiet to moderate.
