Hem is seeking an energetic and experienced New York Sales Lead to activate and drive growth in the local contract market. This role requires a self-driven individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. As a crucial member of the team, you will help shape the larger U.S. sales strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Hem's commercial strategy in New York in collaboration with the Global Sales Team.
  • Attract new customers in the design community through interactions, events, and other networking opportunities.
  • Establish and build relationships with architects, designers, end-clients, and dealers.
  • Educate architects and designers about Hem, Hem's products, Hem Pro, and Hem's ability to respond to customers' business needs and requirements.
  • Increase Hem's awareness in New York by driving different sales and marketing initiatives, such as organizing events, client presentations, lunch & learns, workshops, etc.
  • Visit clients to give presentations and tell the stories behind Hem's brand and products.
  • Increase the New York market's awareness of Hem's products by sending out product loans, proposing/building vignettes, and demonstrating products during in-studio visits.
  • Actively uncover new projects in the New York market to increase Hem's local sales potential.
  • Identify local and global end-customers within the New York market and establish relationships with their design teams in an effort to standardize Hem's products within their global design guidelines.
  • Communicate both high-level and detailed summaries of the development of the New York market, including updates on upcoming projects, insights from Hem's largest local end-clients, perceptions of new trends, observations about Hem's local competitors, etc.
  • Gather and summarize feedback from the New York market in a structured way and distribute it to the relevant person(s) within the Hem team.
  • Diligently document and regularly update all client interactions and project registrations in Salesforce.
  • Oversee the full cycle of clients' order flows, from quoting and ordering to delivery and install, to ensure clients receive a frictionless experience and/or gather insights on how processes and practices can be improved.

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of sales experience in the design and furniture industry in New York, with a strong network within A&D and Dealers.
  • Have a passion for design - the stories, process, and people that bring them to life.
  • Can both grow from and share feedback, and appreciate a transparent and open company culture.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Have a fine-tuned attention to detail and strong work ethic.
  • Thrive in collaborative working environments.
  • Are an excellent problem solver and can generate creative solutions in a time crunch.
  • Have experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce for tracking and reporting.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Have a desire to grow within the company.
  • Have the ability/desire to travel for work.
