Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking an Ob/Gyn Hospitalist who will have hospital privileges at Northside Hospital and Emory Decatur Hospital. The primary role will be to cover inpatient acute care services in the Kaiser Permanente (KP) core hospitals.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Cover labor and delivery with the on-call midwife.
  • Perform normal vaginal deliveries, operative vaginal deliveries, and C-sections if indicated.
  • See urgent/emergent gynecology patients and surgically manage if within scope of experience.
  • Take phone calls from the advice nurse team.
  • Act as a consult to the Advanced Care Center Clinicians.
  • Accept repatriations for patients outside of the core hospital and arrange transport.
  • Perform consults for KP members as indicated by our non-OB/GYN partners.
  • See patients who are “unassigned” in the Northside ER on days assigned to our group.
  • Assist with morning rounds on the weekends.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Licensed physician with the State of Georgia License.
  • Board Eligible “New Graduates” in credentialed specialty when hired must become Board Certified within four years of the date of the earliest eligibility for the appropriate board to continue employment with The Southeast Permanente Medical Group, Inc. (TSPMG). Clinicians that are hospital-based must follow the hospital policy for board certification requirements.
  • Ob/Gyn physician (board certified or board eligible).

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • At least one year of experience preferred but not required.

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:

  • Current Unrestricted License in the State of Georgia.
