Job Description ECU Health About ECU Health Duplin HospitalECU Health Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed facility located in Kenansville, North Carolina. The 15-bed emergency department serves approximately 25,000 patients per year. In addition to providing general medical and surgical services, ECU Health Duplin Hospital offers chemotherapy and other cancer infusion interventions and has earned national designation as a Primary Stroke Center.Position Summary The Observer is a member of the healthcare team. The Observer is responsible for monitoring one or more assigned patients on a designated unit for a specified time period. The Observer alerts the patient's assigned nurse and/or supervisor if the patient exhibits risk of harming himself/herself or others. The Observer may be delegated patient care tasks within his/her scope of practice in addition to monitoring the patient while under the supervision of the nurse.Position Summary The Observer is a member of the healthcare team. Receives report from the patient's nurse / charge nurse or supervising nurse prior to assuming assignment.Provides meaningful handoff communication to the patient's nurse / charge nurse or supervising nurse when relieved of duties.
