Duties/Responsibilities:
* Provide support to pediatric patients (birth to age 20) in the implementation of their occupational therapy treatment plans within a home health setting.
* Assist in assessing pediatric patients' needs and tracking progress towards their therapeutic goals.
* Collaborate with the occupational therapist to develop tailored treatment plans and interventions designed for pediatric clients in their home environments.
* Assist children and adolescents in performing therapeutic exercises and activities to improve their functional abilities.
* Support patients with activities of daily living such as grooming, bathing, and dressing, adapted to a home-based care model.
* Educate patients and their families on techniques to improve functional abilities and prevent injury, emphasizing strategies for the home setting.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of pediatric patient progress and treatment outcomes.
* Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements
Qualifications:
* At least an associate's degree
* One (1) full year of supervised work experience preferred
* Licensure or certification by the state of Texas as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
Organizational Relationship:
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant reports directly to the Supervising OTR.
Functional Abilities:
* Read 12 point or larger type
* Hear and speak in a manner understood by most people
* Stoop and bend; must be able to lift and transfer patients
* Must be able to operate motor vehicle and travel to prospective patient's residences
