Phyt also provides comprehensive management and staffing solutions for our business partners.Position Summary: The Staff Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) assumes part and/or full-time responsibilities in an assigned facility. This is a professional position with the primary responsibility of providing rehabilitative services, under the direction of occupational therapists, to persons with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments. The OTA reports to the Occupational Therapist and to the Rehab Director.Qualifications:
- Complete all fieldwork requirements.
- After applying for the NBCOT Certification examination through My NBCOT, submit an official final college or university transcript that indicates the degree date and title OR an Academic Credential Verification Form (ACVF) within six (6) months of the candidate receiving his/her final degree. The pass/fail status of candidates who submit an ACVF will not be released until NBCOT receives an official final transcript.

Responsibilities: The OTA is responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Verifies client information by interviewing client; reviewing and/or recording medical history; confirming purpose of treatment
- Helps clients improve their quality of life by helping them compensate for limitations, such as, helping injured workers improve their motor skills and re-enter the labor force, and teaching persons with learning disabilities to prepare meals or to use public transportation and increase their independence
- Implements treatment plan through direct treatment and collaboration with Occupational Therapist, education of treatment staff which includes fellow therapists and other members of team involved in the treatment plan.
- Receive necessary supervision from the Occupational Therapist.
- Maintain professional growth and development, by participating in continuing education programs, and other approved learning experiences.
- Maintains confidentiality of all medical record, facility and rehab related information.
- Maintains accurate billing information in accordance with facility procedures daily.
- Attends/Leads interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other members of the rehab team.
- Attends and participates in family meeting when appropriate.
- Complies with the documentation requirements of the rehab department and facility.
- Assists with staff/family training and education when appropriate by formal and informal in-services as well as consultations.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
