They collaborate with hospital staff to promote the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being for the patient.MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. License/Certifications:
- Possess a valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Acute Care Experience: preferred.
Expected Hours of Work: Non-guaranteed; Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm; occasional weekend coverage may be requested.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Implement treatment plan through selection of appropriate tasks, exercises, or modalities that will assist individual develop or regain skills necessary for meeting their goals and maximizing their functional independence. Documents progress appropriately and adjusts treatment accordingly. Consults with other Rehabilitation professionals so that treatment will be integrated and coordinated to allow patient to receive the benefit of an organized multi-disciplinary approach. Utilizes modalities including electric stimulation, ultrasound, TENS, iontophoresis, phonophoresis, hot packs, ice packs, ice massage, contrast baths, and paraffin to maximize individual's motor and sensory performance necessary for participating in daily functional tasks. Performs therapeutic exercises, joint mobilization, developmental progression, ADL retraining, perceptual retraining, cognitive retraining, work conditioning, patient education for joint protection. Requisitions supplies and tools for use in patient care at the hospital. Sets up patient with necessary equipment to perform task and cleans equipment according to infection control policy and procedure. Fills out billing sheet/documentation describing service given and routes it to appropriate billing station. Performs other duties as assigned.Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.).
