We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who will serve as a network instructional staff member responsible for providing occupational therapy services to scholars. The occupational therapist will help scholars develop reliable sensory processing skills to function socially and succeed academically. In addition, the Occupational Therapist will incorporate direct instruction, discussion, projects, and cooperative work where scholars are engaged and infused with a lasting desire to learn. This person will also ensure that related services are provided per local and state regulations. This position is a 10-month position. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a related area (e.g., Occupational Therapist) from an accredited college/university
  • Must be an NYS-licensed Occupational Therapist
  • OTR certification is required

  • Minimum of two years of professional work experience
  • Strong understanding of occupational-related conditions, causes, and treatments.
  • Excellent coaching, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong skill set in human relations, communications, problem-solving, and organization
What you'll do
  • Conduct IEP Meetings with families and complete reports on scholar progress, services, and goals.
  • Complete timely reports with a focus on scholars' areas of strengths and needs., the Related Services portion in the Present Levels Of Performance and Related Service goals in SESIS before the Individualized Education Plan meeting.
  • Inform all staff and families about Individualized Education Plan meetings in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain Special Education binders. Upload student work weekly. Maintain and track attendance of all students' services.
  • Assess Individualized Education Plan goals monthly.
  • Complete progress reports on time to provide a clear progression of scholars served.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with all parents and be readily available to answer their questions and concerns as they arise.
  • Complete data-driven lesson plans and consistently submit them to the School Psychologist or designee.
  • Analyze data and develop instructional next steps for the students they service.
  • Deliver high-quality sessions that are differentiated to meet the needs of all students.
  • Observe and conduct Occupational Therapy Screenings for students who have been identified with occupational concerns.
  • Provide consultation with teachers to provide in-direct support for scholars.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Special Education team.

The salary range for incoming teachers is $67,000 to $137,000. Incoming teacher salaries are determined based on their number of years of experience as a lead teacher, level of education (bachelor's or master's degree), and certification. We offer a $6,000 signing bonus (paid out in two installments after 6 months and 9 months of employment) and highly competitive salaries with generous performance-based bonuses, a comprehensive benefits package, and a low student-teacher ratio. For Lead Teacher positions, we also offer eligibility for up to $30K in student loan forgiveness after 12 months of employment.
