Occupational Therapist Relocation: $5000.00 POSITION SCOPE: Practice of occupational therapy means the therapeutic use of everyday life activities (occupations) with individuals or groups for the purpose of participation in roles and situations in home, school, workplace, community, and other settings. Occupational therapy services are provided for the purpose of promoting health and wellness and to those who have or are at risk for developing an illness, injury, disease, disorder, condition, impairment, disability, activity limitation, or participation restriction. Occupational therapy addresses the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory, and other aspects of performance in a variety of contexts to support engagement in everyday life activities that affect health, well-being and quality of life. POSITION SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapist uses assessment and treatment to develop, recover, or maintain the daily living and work skills of people with a physical, mental, or cognitive disorder. In addition to performing therapeutic interventions to restore or regain hand and upper extremity function, Occupational Therapist interventions focus on adapting the environment, modifying the task, teaching the skill, and educating the client/family in order to increase participation in and performance of daily activities, particularly those that are meaningful to the client. The Occupational Therapist addresses the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory and other aspects of performance to support engagement in activities that affect health, well-being and quality of life for patients of all ages. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: - Requires B.S. degree from an accredited school in Occupational Therapy. - One year experience required, strong background in the majority of the following areas: inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing/short term rehab and/or pediatrics. - Must have current OT Idaho state License. - Current CPR/BLS certification required (can be obtained upon hire) - Ability to read, write legibly and comprehend the written and spoken word in English. - Proficient in using Electronic medical records systems (EMI) preferably Meditech. - Proficient in basic computer skills, key board at 30 wpm, use Microsoft office products such as Outlook email and Word. - Must have a valid driver's license. SCHEDULE: - Full time, 40 hours per week typically M-F days, hours may vary, some overtime may be required as business needs dictate. - Required to work weekend rotation schedule as applicable. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/REQUIREMENTS: - Responsible for evaluating factors affecting a patient's performance in areas of activities of daily living (ADL's), instrumental activities of daily living (IADL's), rest and sleep, education, work, play, leisure and social participation. - Responsible for evaluating fine motor skills and upper extremity function. - Responsible for evaluating motor-development in the pediatric and adolescent population. - Responsible for developing treatment plans appropriate for the individual patient/client, utilizing interventions and procedures to promote or enhance safety and performance in ADL's, IADL's. Knows how to progress activities and incorporate precautions. - Sets goals and monitors progress, is responsible for documenting daily notes, interim notes, progress notes and discharge summaries, communicates with physicians. - Completes documentation according to departmental policies and procedures, timely and accurately, to assure excellence in continuity of patient care, to meet facility, State and Federal regulatory requirements and assure payment for services rendered. - Fosters collaboration with support personnel to achieve optimal patient care and enhance the overall delivery of services. - Addresses patients, visitors and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner. - Receives and places confidential information with courtesy, accuracy and respect at all times. Is aware of and complies with HIPAA regulations. - Follows departmental policy and procedures at all times and reacts properly in an emergency and/or disaster, following emergency codes instructions. - Demonstrates competency, meets continuing education requirements, assures the highest standard of care for the patients served. - Supervises students, aids as needed. - Provides Home Health Services as directed. - Provides services to clients/students for contracted parties such as virtual academies, schools, as directed. - Participates in the delivering of staff training. - Participates and contributes to Quality Improvement programs as directed. - Participates in interdisciplinary meetings, coordinates care with other health care team members to ensure appropriateness of care and patient satisfaction. - Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain Infection Control standards set by the Hospital. NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/REQUIREMENTS: - Participates in hospital committees. - Volunteers for events such as the annual Health Fair, Sports Physicals and other representative community events. - All other duties as assigned. Shift: M-F 0800-1630. Call: 4-hour Saturday shifts, in rotation w/ other staff. Approximately 1-2 months per 12 month cycle. OUTSTANDING SALARY AND BENEFITS PACKAGE !!
