Our team is what makes St. Camillus an amazing place to work.We are currently seeking a Full Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Inpatient Rehab Department!Responsibilities:This position is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and direct Occupational Therapy Services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct occupational therapy, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
- Provide patient evaluation and treatment program with appropriate treatment approach and use of modalities.
- Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning therapy services.
- Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, resident assessments, etc., as necessary.
- Maintain a current file of residents treated.
- Completes clinical documentation according to policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all therapists' notes are informative and descriptive of the care provided and of the resident's response to the care.
- Develops a written plan of care (preliminary and comprehensive) for each resident that identifies the problems/needs of the resident and the goals to be accomplished for each problem/need identified.
- Reviews and revises/updates care plans and assessments as per policy.
- Effectively communicates care plan needs to team
- Develop and maintain occupational therapy standards.
- Review occupational therapy policies, procedures, manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes.
- Provide education on the role of occupational therapy to personnel, residents, family members, etc., as necessary.
- Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Coordinator in developing, implementing, and maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for occupational therapy services.
- Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the occupational therapy service.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Rehab Director, as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the occupational therapy department.
- Serve on, participate in, and/or attend various committees of the facility as required.
- Provide written, and/or oral reports of the occupational therapy programs and activities as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum, a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university
- Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices
- Strong verbal, written, and computer skills required
