Job Description:

Applewood Village is seeking a full time Occupational Therapist who will organize, and conduct therapy sessions designed to support patient rehabilitation and enhance independence. You will guide patients through selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and improve their daily performance, promoting a safe and supportive environment. Essential Functions:

    • Supervision: Oversee Occupational Therapy Assistants, students, and support staff in line with state licensure requirements and professional standards.
    • Service Delivery: Ensure the efficient execution of rehab services, adhering to established care plans, schedules, and timely documentation.
    • Team Collaboration: Participate in patient care and staffing meetings, contributing to interdisciplinary discussions and treatment planning.
    • Referrals: Refer patients to other disciplines as necessary to address their comprehensive needs.
    • Program Adaptation: Customize care plans based on individual patient requirements and progress.
    • Safety and Supplies: Maintain a safe environment and manage supplies and equipment as needed.
    • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history, tests, and measures, to establish diagnoses and develop care plans.
    • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with patients and caregivers to set treatment goals and implement occupational therapy plans, documenting all services.
    • Adaptive Devices: Design, fit, and train patients in the use of adaptive devices, including orthotics and prosthetics.
    • Patient Instruction: Teach patients skills and techniques for functional activities and monitor their progress.
    • Reexamination: Perform routine assessments to adjust and improve treatment plans as necessary.
    • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
    • Valid NJ Occupational Therapist license.
    • Experience working with older adults preferred.
    • 1 year experience preferred.
