Occupational Therapist - Staten Island, NY ****

Compensation: $80,000 - $85,000 per year

__The hiring company has been offering Educational Evaluations and Related Services, including Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Counseling , since 2002. They currently collaborate with the New York City Department of Education to provide these services to both public and private schools across New York City. As a leading provider of therapy and rehabilitation services, they are dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients aged 3 to 21 years old.

About the Job:

__The position involves providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in a clinical setting for 8 0% of the time and working in a school environment for the remaining 20%. The ideal candidate will have experience in both settings and a passion for helping patients and students achieve their highest potential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities ( 80%):

  • Evaluate and assess patients' occupational therapy needs.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve patients' functional abilities.

  • Provide therapy sessions to patients with various conditions, including physical, developmental, and emotional disabilities.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

  • Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve daily living skills and enhance quality of life.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.

School Responsibilities ( 20%):

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of students referred for occupational therapy services.

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and other school staff.

  • Provide therapy sessions to students to address their educational and developmental needs.

  • Adapt school environments to improve students' functional performance.

  • Educate teachers, parents, and students on strategies to support students' learning and participation in school activities.

  • Monitor and document students' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. New Grads are welcome so long license is in process.

  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

  • Experience working in both clinical and school settings is preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and improving patient outcomes.

  • Willing to undergo finger printing
