Job Description:

We are currently hiring for an Occupational Therapist with primary responsibilities at our Auburn, NY location, and occasional responsibilities at our Bath NY location. This is a part-time (24 hour) school-based position with flexible hours between Monday-Friday!

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides services to youth within the Hillside Family of Agencies. When applicable, the OT also supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA). Supervisory duties include review of session notes, Individualized Education Program (IEP) direct entries and evaluations. The OT also observes sessions between the OTA and youth.

Job Responsibilities:

- Plan, organize, and conduct occupational therapy programs in a school setting to help rehabilitate those impaired due to illness, psychological or developmental problems.

- Test and evaluate patients' physical and cognitive abilities and analyzing medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals for students.

- Plan and develop therapeutic intervention goals that are relevant to developmental life and independent living skills.

- Select activities that will help individuals learn work and life-management skills while maintaining sensitivity to the limits of their mental and physical capabilities.

- Evaluate patients' progress and prepares reports that effectively detail treatment documents evaluations and treatment goals and plans.

- Train caregivers how to provide for the needs of a patient during and after therapy, in order to further the success of the patient.

- Recommend changes in patients' living environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy is required, in addition to NYS Certification in Occupational Therapy. Preferred skills include three or more years of experience working in a school-based setting and experience with special needs and emotionally challenged youth and young adults. Candidates must have a valid NYS Driver's License and must meet agency driving standards.

$24.97 Minimum Rate per hour, $37.45 Maximum Rate per hour, based on experience.
