We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic team in Selma, AL. As an OT, you will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life. You will work with a diverse population, including individuals recovering from injury, managing chronic conditions, or seeking to enhance their daily living skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients physical, emotional, and environmental needs. Evaluate patients abilities, challenges, and goals to develop personalized treatment plans.
Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results. Set realistic and achievable goals in collaboration with patients and their families.
Intervention: Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients ability to perform daily activities. Utilize various therapeutic techniques and modalities to address physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, home exercises, and adaptive strategies to promote ongoing improvement and self-management.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries. Ensure all documentation complies with legal and professional standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and speech therapists, to provide comprehensive care. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate and enhance patient care.
Advocacy: Advocate for patients needs and support their access to necessary resources and services. Engage in community outreach to raise awareness about occupational therapy and its benefits.
Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in occupational therapy. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure: Current and valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Alabama.
Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Skills: Strong assessment and diagnostic skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in using occupational therapy equipment and technology.
