Metro is looking for a motivated and passionate Occupational Therapist to provide coverage for our outpatient facilities across South Nassau on a per diem basis.   • Provide one-on-one treatment
  • Plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of occupational treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent occupational dysfunction in patients.
  • Custom Splint Fabrication for Patients
  • Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
  • Develop and guide plans of care which encourage compliance and produce the best results for your patients.
  • Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Must be willing to treat all ages and have sensory integration experience.
Requirements
  • Occupational Therapist Program Graduate.
  • NY Occupational Therapy License or eligible.
  • Home health experience is preferred but not required - We will provide you with a mentor to help with documentation and compliance.
  • Evaluates patient's need for occupational therapy and develops appropriate treatment plan.
  • Provide appropriate care and treatment to patients based on physician care plan, agency policy and professional standards of care.
  • Instructs family members, PTA's, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate physical therapy techniques.
  • Certifications Required: CPR/First Aid
Salary Description $35-$45/hr
