Island Nursing Rehab Center -

We are a 120-bed not-for-profit nursing facility offering advanced healthcare while providing skilled nursing and rehabilitative services for both long and short term residents. Located on eight beautiful landscaped acres, we also provide sub-acute services, wound care and respite services.

The Vision of Island Nursing and Rehab Center is to achieve the highest level of resident/patient care services by focusing on resident/patient satisfaction and to serve as a center of excellence for our specialty programs, as well as a high-quality provider of care to the elderly and physically frail population in our community.

We are currently seeking a per diem Occupational Therapist who will embody the passion and commitment required to deliver the ultimate care for our residents. Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays, as well as, intermittent weekday coverage.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Current New York State Occupational Therapy License required.
  • Graduate from an occupational therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association or the American Medical Association.
  • A minimum of one year experience as an occupational therapist.
  • Ability to make clinical and managerial decisions within the scope of professional practice to perform physical therapy procedures competently and independently.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports the patient's initial status, therapy plans and goals, on-going status and discharge plans.
  • Provides assessments, plans and goals.
  • Instructs patients, families and team members regarding programs that enhance and/or facilitate care and follow-up.
  • Complies with all regulatory criteria.
  • Provides professional leadership and clinical guidance and expertise to team members.
  • Attends regular continuing education programs.
  • Adheres to all aspects of Customer Service, some examples include the following. Working together, showing empathy, courteous communication, respect of others.
