Odyssey of the Mind
(Stipend Position as per REEA/REBOE Contract Addendum D)

Odyssey of the Mind is designed to enable students to brainstorm, act, build sets, write scripts, make costumes, and learn to think quickly on their feet. Students compete in teams to creatively solve both long-term and spontaneous problems.
* The activity is to design and perform an 8-minute skit at tournaments that discusses their solution.
* The team is responsible for their problem and solution.
* Coaches are facilitators - they help guide and train teams of 5-7 students with creative problem solving skills, but are not allowed to have ANY input into their actual problem solution.
* Teams meet after school for 2 hours/week with their coach usually from November through March but meet independently for many hours on their own outside of school time.
